宁明县的东部是十万大山余脉，河流多，主要河流有明江河、公安河、大埝河、思州河、板烂河等九条，水力资源十分丰富，理论水能蕴藏量为12.6万千瓦，可供开发8.8万千瓦，现已开发1.23万千瓦，尚待开发7.75万千瓦。宁明县自1971年起开始兴建水电站，目前已有鸠鸪、海丘、浦下派连等4座水电站。

    开发重点：目前，开发条件比较成熟的中小型水电站项目有3个，即驮英电站，装机容量5.4万千瓦，投资4亿多元；海丘电站扩建工程，装机容量6000千瓦，投资3000万元；驮烂电站，装机容量4000千瓦，投资4100万元。

    The water resources

    In the eastern part of Ningming county are the great shiwan mountains, many rivers, the main ones are Mingjiang river, Gongan river, Pailian river, Danian river Sizhou river and Banlan river..The water resources are very rich, in the theory the water energy come up to 126 thousand kilo-watt, 88 thousand kilo-watt can be used and now 12300 kilo-watt in use and waiting energy of 75700 kilo-watt. Since 1971 last century, Ningming county has completed 4 hydro-power stations of Jiugu, Haiqiu, Puxia and pailian.

    The key-point development: Now there are 3 projects of meddle and small hydro-power stations in good conditions, they are Tuoying station with a capacity of 54000 kilo-watt for an investment of RMB yuan 400 millions, Haiqiu station expanding project with a capacity of 6000 kilo-watt for an investment of RMB yuan 30 millions, Tuolan station with a capacity of 4000 kilo-watt for an investment of RMB yuan 41millions.
